President's Message

Dear Friends,

I would like to begin by expressing my immense gratitude to all the donors who have wholeheartedly, and without any hesitation, supported the Community Focus Foundation (CFF). Thank you for trusting us! CFF is a young institution and has accomplished a great deal, but we still have many plans in store for the future. This journey began with the initiative of the Pioneer Mutual Federal Credit Union in 2012. The Pioneer Community Center is CFFs first project and one of a kind in our Ismaili community. The Center is owned, operated, and developed by CFF, which is in turn managed by jamati volunteers serving on the board of directors.

The master plan for the center covers 44 acres, of which 16.3 acres provides a venue for various competitive team sports as well as for large gatherings such as Eid Mela, family picnics and various community events & activities. The center offers dedicated spaces for seniors, youth, meeting spaces, a full-size commercial kitchen, and locker rooms. The remaining 27.5 acres includes the Abid Umatiya Sports Complex, now complete, and future amenities such as a swimming pool, courtyard, kids play area, walking trails, grand pavilion, picnic pavilions, etc. The Center will provide a safe place for our youth to develop skills that will be impactful throughout their lives. Ultimately, we hope this center will provide an epicenter around which we can preserve our heritage, culture, and values in the long term.

Today, the opening ceremony of the Abid Umatiya Sports Complex marks a milestone for the Community Focus Foundation. This elegant complex consists of 28,000 sq. ft. and will provide indoor facilities for basketball, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, gymnastics, yoga, fitness classes and more. It is our hope that the complex will also be used for other activities such as meetings and jamati celebrations and ceremonies.

I would like to thank our Advisory Board, Directors, present and past, for their dedicated services, sacrifices, and hard work. I would also like to express our sincere gratitude to His Highness Prince Aga Khan Shia Imami Ismaili Council for the Southwestern United States for their cooperation and guidance. Finally, I would like to thank the countless and tireless volunteers for their ongoing support.

Once again, I sincerely thank you for being friends of the foundation. I am both thrilled and humbled to be here with you to celebrate this historic event. Together, we have created a home away from home for our community.
